1 hour lunch study of George Innes's "The Lackawanna Valley"
This is one of my favorite landscape painting from George Innes.
Really enjoyed painting it but I struggled a bit since the values are so subtle that it was kinda hard to read and mimic the value shift.
In this scene, I really love how he leads the audience eyes around the MG and FG area. The use of basic shapes and long lines and the value groupings to help focus the eyes are superb!
I would love to see it in real life!
